POSITION: Executive Officer, CHBA Rocky Mountain

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: President of the Board of Directors And is responsible to the Board of Directors

HOURS: 10 Hours Per Week

ABOUT CHBA ROCKY MOUNTAIN:
CHBA Rocky Mountain is a membership based organization made up of building professionals who are committed to industry excellence. Through the association, members have access to technical information as well as specialized education and training courses. At CHBA Rocky Mountain, our objective as an organization is to provide a vehicle for the promotion of industry interests, a forum for discussion on noncompetitive issues, and a resource for relevant industry information to assist members in their business.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Service the existing membership and recruit new members. Specific Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Plan and execute local events to build value for membership including but not limited to speaker luncheons and continual professional development (CPD) Opportunities.
  2. Increase and build membership
  3. Promote and increase organizations visibility and recognition within the region
  4. Assist the local board with the governance of the local organization.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills: both oral and written, including event planning skills; communication skills, and workshop presentation skills;
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively at all levels; applying mature judgement and exercising tact, discretion and diplomacy with others;
  • Ability to build membership and promote the organization;
  • Marketing and sales experience is considered an asset;
  • Experience in working with a volunteer Board of Directors is an asset;
  • Experience or involvement in the construction industry is an asset;
  • Drivers license and occasional access to a vehicle is required;
  • Occasional travel to events and retreats is required;

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES:

  • Support from the provincial staff
  • Support from fellow EO’s in the province
  • Two EO development retreats per year

COMPENSATION: Base pay (weekly based upon 10 hours of work) plus incentives for new memberships
